SIMS - Società Italiana Medicinali Scandicci

  • 1937: Foundation year made by Mr Ugo Rangoni, late father of the current president in the original site of Scandicci, a suburb of Florence.

  • 1972: First submission of a Drug Master file for an active ingredient to the US FDA. Another 20 have follow thru the years.

  • 1974: A new plant is opened in the county of Reggello, south east of Florence, following the closure of the Scandicci site, with one of the first water treatment unit in the industry.

  • 1980-1990: Major developments in APIs production and increasing role in toll manufacturing contracts with the largest pharmaceutical multinationals.

  • 1996: Construction of a modern incinerator for the disposal of gaseous and liquid waste with special attention to environmental impact.

  • 2010: Opening of a new ultra modern unit for handling the last step of production, from final crystallization to final packing and authomated wharehousing. A new QC lab has been added to the same to complete this important investment aimed at improving the overall quality and compliance.
